Summertime bike safety

Summer is a great time to go for a bicycle ride -- and everytime you get on a bicycle is a great time to practice bicycle safety!

Before leaving home, do a quick ABC check on your bike to make sure it is ready to ride:

• A: Check the Air in the tires.
• B: Check the front and back Brakes to make sure they're in working order.
• C: Check the Crankshaft and sprocket assembly to make sure nothing is loose or out of alignment.

Most importantly, make sure you've got your helmet on and properly fitted.

The helmet should sit on the top and forward -- not back -- on your head. Check the instructions that came with the helmet for specific fitting instructions.
