Internet Safety Guidelines

Surfing the Web and chatting online can be a fun way to keep in touch with friends, find out information, and learn new things. But it can be a dangerous place too. Follow these guidelines and you'll be a safer surfer.

  • Do not give out personal information such as your address, telephone number, where your parents work, or their work telephone number.
  • Do not tell anyone the name or location of your school unless you ask your parents first.
  • If you see something that makes you feel uncomfortable, tell your parents right away.
  • Do not ever agree to meet someone online.
  • Never send your picture or anything to someone online.
  • If you receive an e-mail that makes you feel uncomfortable, do not respond to it and show it to your parents right away.
  • Follow the rules set by your parents about what areas you can visit while you are online.
  • Never share your Internet password with anyone other than your parents.
  • Be safe and responsible while on line.
  • Do not engage in activities which will hurt someone or breaks the law.
