Fire Operations Team

The Fire Operations Team manages fire suppression activities. Duties include choosing equipment and proper placement of the equipment on apparatus for fast and efficient fire suppression and investigation of hazards.

The team also selects the types of hose and nozzles, used on apparatus, as well as personal protective equipment. For instance, the team recently met and chose a new Thermal Imaging Camera. The city purchased two of the Scott Eagle 160 for our front line engines. This would allow us to have thermal imaging capability on every front line piece of firefighting apparatus in the city.

The Fire Operations Team also contributes by coordinating several specialized fire trainings throughout the year, such as multiple company drills and special drills with companies participating in the Rapid Intervention Teams (RIT), and live fire training.
